Fighting Foodborne Illness in the Childcare Setting

The goal of this course is to reduce the risk of foodborne illness in the childcare setting.

Topics covered in this course include:

Basics of Bugs: Information is abundant in this section. You will read stories or cases that have occurred all around the world. It points out things that can happen and gives objectives and goals for the reader to reach for. Bacteria, viruses, and parasites; the common and the unheard of are listed and highlighted in this section. You will think twice about what is going on around you.

Sanitation in the Childcare Setting: Handwashing, soap, gloves, changing diapers, disinfecting, sanitizing, sickness, and pets are all covered in this section. Cleanliness is a big part in fighting foodborne illness. Handling all that comes your way will seem like a breeze after reading this section.

Action Plan Review: In the Action Plan Review, there are six activities to demonstrate what you have learned. All of them are optional, but you must complete two of the six offered.
