The Internet/CD Course for Early Childhood Professionals began in 1999 and will be an ongoing project for several years. Subject matter will change over time, but the fundamental basics of the course will remain constant. This course, with its series of topics, meets prerequisites for the Council for Professional Recognition of the Child Development Associate National Credential Program (CDA), Continued Education Units (CEUs), and local requirements for training. The course is created for an environment that provides "on demand" access for educational and training needs of early childhood professionals in Nebraska and othe states (Web/CD based). The course has not only been expanded to encompass a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional approach involving cooperative extension, teaching and research faculty from UNL colleges and other Nebraska agencies but also other universities are joining Nebraska with this web-based effort and providing CDA/CEU's training hours that will be placed on the Nebraska Website.
