Management Home Study CourseDeveloped by faculty of the University of Nebraska Extension |
UNL Extension Home Study Courses are designed to allow you to
work at home or in the office. But more important, you can work at your own
pace. Information presented in this course is appropriate for farmers, crop
consultants, and agribusiness professionals involved in crop production anywhere
in the High Plains area. Some irrigation background is helpful. Irrigation Management
Course I is meant to be an introductory course to help you: a) determine if
irrigation is appropriate; b) understand basic irrigation management schemes;
c) estimate water application uniformity and efficiency; d) calculate water
application needs and application costs; e) schedule irrigation water applications;
and f) evaluate the potential for environmental concerns. The course consists
of 13 chapters with a quiz following each one.

been approved for 1 CCA/CEU credit in irrigation management in Nebraska, Colorado, South
Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho.
